To us, it matters where it's made.

Texture

Cut Pile vs Loop pile.

Loop pile carpets are made by leaving the yarn loops uncut, creating a continuous, textured surface. This design helps resist crushing and tracking, so footprints and vacuum marks are far less noticeable. One thing to keep in mind: loop pile carpets can sometimes snag on pet claws or sharp objects. While not as silky-soft as cut pile (especially in thicker options), loop pile is highly durable, making it an excellent choice for high-traffic areas like hallways and living rooms. Loop pile carpets are ideal for those looking to add visual depth and interest to their interior.

Cut pile carpets are created when the looped yarn is trimmed, leaving the fibres standing upright. This results in a soft, smooth surface with a luxurious feel underfoot. While cut pile can show footprints and vacuum marks, choosing a shorter pile helps reduce this effect. One advantage is that cut pile carpets disguise joins more effectively than loop pile. A higher-density cut pile will also be more durable, making it suitable for high-traffic areas while still offering a cozy, elegant look.

Colours

A colour to suit any interior

Each carpet range offers a wide variety of colours — from timeless greys, beiges, and browns to even a touch of green.

Most styles are designed in multitone blends for practicality, helping to disguise everyday bits and pieces like crumbs and fluff. Multitone carpets also add versatility to your interior, giving you more freedom when styling your space.

Bolder shades such as Marble create striking contrast and visual interest, while softer options like Cactus provide a more subtle, uniform look with just a hint of variation.

For a seamless, classic finish, options like Mondo and Jasper are available in timeless single-tone designs.

Materials

Types of Yarn

NZ Carpet Makers manufacture exclusively with Type 6 nylon fibre. This means every strand can be regenerated an infinite number of times — allowing old carpet to be repurposed instead of ending up in landfill.

Two of our ranges, Luna and Vitality, are made using regenerated nylon (Econyl®).

Beyond sustainability, nylon also offers lasting performance: it’s colourfast for excellent fade resistance and naturally stain resistant for easier care.
